Hajjah: The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at Hajjah University, in collaboration with the University Student Forum, hosted a scientific symposium titled "The Message and the Example: The Prophetic Guidance in Engineering and Building Individuals and Society," to mark the celebration of the Prophet's birthday (1448 AH).
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Muhammad Hamid, Vice Rector of the University, articulated that the Prophet's biography transcends a mere historical narrative, offering a comprehensive framework for individual growth and societal development. He emphasized the importance of integrating the Prophet Muhammad's guidance into practical applications to enhance academic performance and address contemporary challenges with faith and responsibility.
Dr. Mutahhar Hamid, Dean of the Faculty, highlighted the necessity of intertwining engineering and technological sciences with Prophetic values, especially amidst the rapid global transformations. The symposium explored four key themes, beginning with "Exemplary Figures and Role Models: Great Examples from the Prophet's Biography." Judge Abdulmajid Sharaf al-Din emphasized the Prophet Muhammad's embodiment of leadership through mercy, justice, and truthfulness, serving as a model for educational and administrative leadership.
The second theme, "The Prophet's Birthday: Its Faith-Based, Humanistic, and Civilizational Significance and its Connection to the Quranic Project," was addressed by the university's vice president, Dr. Humair al-Awar. He underscored the Prophet's birthday as the inception of a civilizational project rooted in the Holy Quran, essential for achieving unity and knowledge in modern development.
In the third session, "Prophetic Guidance: A Contemporary Vision for Reforming Individual Behavior and Building Society," Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghaeli from the College of Education stressed the societal need to realign with Prophetic values like honesty and cooperation, essential for societal stability and cohesion.
The fourth session, "The Lights of Prophethood in Confronting and the Paradoxes of Imported Celebrations," featured Dr. Mustafa Al-Hamzi, Assistant to the University President. He argued that celebrating the Prophet's birthday should focus on the essence of the message and renewing commitment to the Holy Quran, rather than superficial formalities. True celebration, he noted, is reflected in daily adherence to the Prophet's ethics.
