Taiz Officials Assess Progress on Community Development Projects in Saber Al-Mawadim

Taiz: Local and development officials in Saber Al-Mawadim District of Taiz Governorate reviewed a number of community-led development projects currently under implementation. The visit included Central Interventions Unit representative Eng. Badr Al-Din Al-Tayyar, Bonyan Foundation coordinator in the governorate Iyad Awehaj, District Director Abdulraouf Al-Azzani, and Executive Director of the Saber Al-Mawadim Cooperative Association Fares Al-Jaradi.

According to Yemen News Agency, the delegation inspected the community-funded construction of the "Mohammed Taha Naji" School, as well as the Al-Har water barrier project, which has reached about 50 percent completion, in addition to agricultural protection works and water diversion structures. The tour also covered other initiatives supported in-kind by the Central Interventions Unit, including the first phase of Al-Qahaf road paving project and the paving of Al-Har road, both implemented through community participation and material support.

The visitors praised the district's experience as a successful model for mobilizing community efforts into tangible development projects, stressing the importance of expanding such initiatives to improve basic services and promote sustainable local development. They also called for continued collective action through the agricultural cooperative association and broader participation in productive projects linked to agricultural value chains to strengthen the community's ability to address economic challenges.
