Sana'a: The Ministry of Transport and Public Works, in conjunction with its affiliated authorities and institutions, orchestrated a fervent protest rally at the Public Corporation for Roads and Bridges on Tuesday. The demonstration aimed to denounce the repeated and intentional American affronts to the Holy Qur'an and Islamic sanctities.
According to Yemen News Agency, Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qaheem emphasized that the participation of the Yemeni populace, particularly the Ministry of Transport employees, signifies profound outrage over the offenses perpetrated by adversaries against what is regarded as the purest and most sacred text on earth. He elucidated that the Holy Qur'an serves as a beacon of guidance and a practical lifestyle, bestowed by Almighty Allah upon the most esteemed of humanity, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
Qaheem highlighted that the mass mobilization of millions of Yemenis stands in defense of the Book of Allah, following the directives of Revolution Leader Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi. The gathering saw attendance from notable figures such as the Ministry's Undersecretary for the Public Works Sector, Engineer Ali Rajeh, Acting Chairman of Yemenia Airways Khalil Jahaf, Director of Sana'a International Airport Khaled Al-Shaif, along with various officials and employees. Participants prominently displayed copies of the Holy Qur'an during the protest.
The attendees vehemently condemned the systematic insults and recurrent crimes against the Holy Qur'an by the United States and the Zionist entity, asserting that such actions reveal deep-seated animosity and persistent hostility towards the Book of Allah and Muslim sanctities.
A statement recited during the rally by Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, the head of the Public Corporation for Roads and Bridges, underscored the ministry's leadership and employees' strong denunciation of the persistent crimes targeting Islamic sanctities, particularly the burning of Qur'an copies. The statement declared these disgraceful acts as a flagrant assault on the sentiments of over two billion Muslims globally and an unacceptable provocation against religious sanctities.
It reaffirmed a steadfast stance against any violation of the Holy Qur'an or Islamic sanctities, irrespective of the justifications presented. The statement urged the international community and humanitarian organizations to denounce these crimes and adopt firm legal stances against any insult to religious and Islamic beliefs and sanctities.
Furthermore, it called on Arab and Islamic peoples and governments to undertake effective diplomatic and political measures to safeguard Islamic sanctities, counter the culture of hatred against Islam and Muslims, and activate economic and trade boycotts against supporters of such crimes. Additionally, it advocated organizing marches and demonstrations across Arab and Islamic nations condemning these insults.
The statement framed these massive rallies as a testament to Islamic unity in opposing attempts to undermine the nation's sanctities and principles, stressing that provoking Muslim sentiments will not go unanswered. It warned that continued insults from the United States, Israel, and their allies would only heighten anger and hostility, asserting Yemen's unwavering loyalty to its religion and commitment to defending its sanctities and values.
