Al-qa'idah: Next Saturday, the Health Care Association for Affected Communities will launch its 77th and 78th free medical camps focusing on eye, maxillofacial, and cleft lip surgeries in Al-Qa'idah City, Ibb Governorate, as a part of the celebrations for the Prophet's birthday.

According to Yemen News Agency, the camps, scheduled from the 2nd to the 7th of Rabi' al-Awwal at Al-Qa'idah General Hospital, are funded by the General Authority for Zakat. This initiative is in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Environment and its office in the governorate. The camps aim to provide essential examination services and conduct surgeries for cataracts and maxillofacial (cleft lip) repair.

Dr. Hassan Tamah, head of the Health Committee at the Zakat Authority, highlighted in a press release the intention of these medical camps to assist citizens in remote areas who lack access to necessary services. He noted the efforts of the Zakat Authority in addressing the needs of various Zakat recipients, emphasizing that the camps contribute to social solidarity by aiding the poorest and most vulnerable groups.

Dr. Nashwan Al-Attab, head of the Health Care Association, mentioned that these camps are part of broader charitable relief efforts aimed at implementing a series of medical camps for affected communities and displaced persons, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and local authorities. He stressed the association's commitment to its social responsibility, providing specialized and free medical services to those unable to afford them, including eye surgeries and general surgeries like cleft lip repair.

During the first three days, the camps will conduct examinations to identify cases needing surgical intervention and perform pre-operative tests. Dr. Al-Attab acknowledged the Zakat Authority's support in relieving citizens' suffering. The association has previously implemented 75 camps across various governorates, benefiting 100,246 individuals and performing 13,387 operations.
