Sana'a: The General Authority of Zakat has initiated a project aimed at supporting the Orphan Care Home in the Capital Secretariat of Sana'a, allocating a budget of 36 million riyals for the latter half of 2025. This initiative was marked by the distribution of winter clothing to 948 orphans in recognition of Universal Children's Day.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch event, Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, highlighted the enduring spirit of the Yemeni people, who continue to demonstrate mercy, humanity, and generosity despite facing numerous challenges. He criticized international organizations that operate under the guise of humanitarian aid, accusing them of complicity or silence in the face of ongoing atrocities.
The Minister expressed gratitude towards the staff and affiliates of the Orphan Care Home for their dedication and the successful organization of the event, which featured cultural and quality programs. He applauded the management for their unwavering commitment to serving orphans and praised the Zakat Authority for its significant contributions under challenging conditions.
Deputy Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Judge Ibrahim Al-Shami, emphasized the significance of Universal Children's Day in Yemen, which serves as a reminder of the suffering endured by Yemeni children. He criticized the international community for its inaction and highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, in collaboration with civil society organizations, to protect children's rights.
