Sana'a: Al-Karama Center for Training and Social Rehabilitation, under the National Program for Addressing the Begging Phenomenon, concluded a special training course on social rehabilitation. This course, which lasted for a month, was designed to rehabilitate 60 female beneficiaries by providing them with essential knowledge and skills in social rehabilitation, legal awareness, and small project management.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Executive Director of the National Program for Addressing the Begging Phenomenon, Yasser Sharaf al-Din, stated that this training course is part of the social rehabilitation activities and marks the transition to the second stage of vocational training. This next stage will involve training in fields such as sewing, perfume and incense making, beautification, and wool making, among others.
Sharaf al-Din highlighted that the program's aim is to professionally empower the beneficiaries in the next stage through training and rehabilitation in professions that ensure a dignified income. The third stage will focus on enabling the beneficiaries with economic projects to help them access the local market, aligning with the government's vision of achieving self-sufficiency.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the skills and knowledge acquired during the training and avoid returning to the streets or falling victim to exploitation. Sharaf al-Din emphasized the importance of striving for a dignified life and integrating into society, contributing to local development as per the state and government's programs and plans.
