Implementation of Campaign to Organize Markets and Improve General Appearance in Al-Ta’iziyyah District

Al-ta'iziyyah: The Works Sector, in cooperation with the local authority in Al-Ta'iziyyah Directorate in Ta'iz Governorate, has launched a field campaign to remove waste and informal settlements from the Al-Ramadah area. This initiative aims to organize markets, improve the general appearance, and maintain public cleanliness by addressing accumulated waste and relocating vendors and workers to a temporary market as an interim measure.

According to Yemen News Agency, the official of the Works Sector in the governorate, Engineer Bakil Hamid, stated that the campaign is part of a comprehensive plan to tackle informal settlements and regulate commercial activities. This is intended to ensure public safety and preserve health and the environment. Engineer Hamid highlighted that the campaign would soon target several areas, including Al-Huban, the Ma'awiyah junction, and the Al-Dhikrah junction. The implementation will follow a specific timeline, coordinated with relevant authorities to ensure the campaign's success and achieve its objectives.

Engineer Hamid emphasized that relocating vendors to a temporary market is a provisional solution under the "Ta'iz Without Informal Settlements" campaign. This measure will remain in place until an organized alternative market is established, providing a suitable and safe environment for commercial activities. The new market is expected to alleviate congestion and reduce violations affecting the area's civil appearance.

In addition, the Director of Facilities in the General Works Sector, Engineer Sufyan Al-Kamil, confirmed that the campaign is part of efforts to enhance the aesthetic and urban landscape. It aims to rectify the distortions caused by the unregulated expansion of informal settlements, which have obstructed pedestrian and vehicle movement and encroached on public property.
