Shanghai: China exported 2.05 million vehicles through Shanghai Port between January and September 2025, marking a 15% year-on-year increase and accounting for more than one-third of the country's total vehicle exports during the same period, according to data from Shanghai Customs.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Haitong International Automobile Terminal-one of China's largest vehicle export hubs and the world's largest roll-on/roll-off terminal for both exported and imported cars-handled over 1.1 million units, up 14.2% from last year's figures.
Exports of new energy vehicles (NEVs) represented over 60% of total vehicle exports during the period, reflecting China's growing dominance in electric and hybrid vehicle production.
Haitong Terminal currently operates 289 shipping routes serving 131 countries and regions, with an average of two to three roll-on/roll-off ships departing daily, carrying Chinese-made vehicles to global markets.
