Discussion on Strengthening Precautionary Measures to Combat Acute Watery Diarrhea in Al-Bayda

Al-bayda: A meeting was held today in Al-Bayda Governorate, chaired by the Deputy Governor Saleh Al-Mansouri, to discuss precautionary measures for the prevention of acute watery diarrhea, and awareness measures to combat the disease and mitigate its risks.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by the Director of the National Program for Acute Watery Diarrhea at the Ministry of Health and Environment, Dr. Ahmed Al-Zubair, the Deputy Director of the Health Office, Dr. Mujahid Al-Mudhrai, and the directors of executive offices. It addressed the steps for coordination among all relevant offices to develop an emergency response plan to reduce watery diarrhea, activate the awareness aspect, mandate all health centers to receive cases, and set up an operations room to receive all case reports.

The meeting approved the enhancement of measures related to the safety and treatment of water sources, the activation of the regulatory and awareness roles of relevant authorities, continued coordination between health, executive, and community sectors, and the integration of preventive and therapeutic efforts to ensure rapid response and enhance the level of health protection in the governorate.

During the meeting, the Deputy Governor emphasized the importance of integrating various efforts and working at a high pace to protect the community from various epidemics and diseases, especially after the emergence of cases of acute watery diarrhea. He stressed the need for all sectors, relevant offices, and related authorities to engage, fulfill their health, awareness, and guidance roles, and to demonstrate a sense of responsibility and work as a team to safeguard the community's safety.
