Hajjah: Authorities and public mobilization officials in Hajjah province on Tuesday inaugurated activities marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. Speaking at the event, which was attended by deputy governors Mohammed Al-Qaisi and Adel Shili, deputy governor Mohammed Al-Qadhi emphasized the significance of reflecting on the lessons of the Battle of Karbala and the enduring legacy of Imam Hussein as a symbol of sacrifice, courage, and steadfastness in the face of oppression.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Qadhi noted that Imam Hussein's life and principles continue to inspire generations, stressing the importance of understanding his values, positions, and efforts to uphold justice and guide the Muslim nation. He also linked Yemen's support for Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian cause to the principles embodied by Imam Hussein in confronting injustice and defending faith and dignity.
Deputy governor Ahmed Al-Akhfash described Imam Hussein's uprising as a victory of values, ethics, and principles over tyranny, emphasizing that his refusal to submit to oppression remains a powerful example of commitment and sacrifice. He added that Yemenis continue to draw inspiration from Imam Hussein's stance in confronting challenges and underscored the importance of preserving religious identity and adherence to Islamic values.
The event was attended by University of Hajjah head Dr. Taha Al-Hamzi, Republican Hospital Authority Chairman Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ashoul, executive officials, and community leaders. Cultural activist Bashir Al-Madhoomi also addressed participants, describing Imam Hussein as an enduring symbol of resistance to tyranny and injustice.
