Hodeida: The Hodeida Governorate General Office, in collaboration with several other local government entities, organized a celebratory evening to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. The event was attended by notable officials, including First Deputy Governor Ahmed al-Bashari and Deputy Governor for Culture and Media Affairs Ali Qashar.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Governor for Services Affairs Mohammed Halisi highlighted the significance of celebrating the Prophet's birthday, which serves as a means to draw closer to Allah and to learn from the Prophet's exemplary life. Halisi emphasized Yemen's historical role as a cradle of Islam, noting its early allegiance to and support for the Prophet, which contributed to the global spread of Islamic teachings.
Halisi pointed out that the celebration of the Prophet's birth is deeply rooted in Yemeni tradition and reflects the people's continued reverence for the Prophet's teachings. He explained that the celebration not only honors the Prophet's message but also strengthens the connection of Yemenis to their faith and identity. Halisi called for a return to the Prophet's teachings, especially in light of current challenges, including the targeting of holy sites and the normalization of relations by some Arab regimes.
Sheikh Muhammad al-Wafi, representing the scholars, spoke about the divine selection of the Prophet and the faith-based upbringing that prepared him to convey Allah's guidance to humanity. Al-Wafi emphasized that the commemoration renews the commitment to follow the Prophet's path and urged attendees to emulate the Prophet's example and carry forward his universal message.
The event featured poetry recitations and cultural performances, attended by directors of various offices, including the Finance Office, the Executive Unit, and the Statistics Office, as well as other officials and employees from the organizing bodies.
