Moscow: Russia's external debt-to-GDP ratio fell to 14% in the third quarter of this year, an unprecedented low in recent history, according to calculations by the Russian news agency Sputnik, published on Monday.

According to Yemen News Agency, this figure was derived from data provided by the Central Bank and the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), and it marks a decrease of 0.7 percentage points during the quarter. This is only the second time the debt-to-GDP ratio has fallen so significantly, with the previous record being 13.3% in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Additionally, the report highlighted a decrease in per capita debt, which reached $2,087 compared to $2,195 in the previous quarter. This shift continues to reflect Russia's efforts in managing its external debt levels.
