Yemen Standards Authority Leadership Visits Factories in Sana’a

Sana'a: Executive Director of the Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization (YSMO), Abdullah Al-Atifi, visited a number of local factories in Sana'a City and Sana'a Governorate on Thursday as part of the government's efforts to localize industries, support domestic production, and strengthen its role in economic development.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the visit, Al-Atifi reviewed production processes and compliance with national standards and quality requirements. He also received briefings from factory officials on production lines, operational capacity, and the main challenges facing the industrial sector.

He stressed the importance of improving the quality of national products to enhance their competitiveness in the market, noting that industrial localization is a strategic option for strengthening the national economy.

Al-Atifi said the organization is supporting this direction by developing national standards, providing inspection, testing, calibration, and certification services, in addition to offering technical guidance to industrial enterprises to help them meet quality requirements and improve their products.

He reaffirmed the organization's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the industrial sector, expanding field visits to factories, identifying their needs, and addressing challenges within its mandate to improve the production environment, promote a culture of quality, enhance consumer confidence in domestic products, and support sustainable industrial development.

He was accompanied by YSMO Deputy Executive Director for Technical Affairs Eng. Ahmed Qassem and a number of the organization's department directors.
