Sana'a: The National Meteorological Center and Early Warning Center is forecasting varying and scattered thunderstorms across several governorates over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicates that moderate to heavy thunderstorms, accompanied by downdraft winds and occasional hail, are expected in the governorates of Ibb, Taiz, Al Dhale'e, Dhamar, Raymah, Al Mahwit, and Hajjah. This includes parts of the Tihama Plain and the western coasts.
Scattered rainfall with occasional thunderstorms is anticipated in Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Al Bayda, and Shabwa governorates, as well as the highlands of Lahj and Abyan. Additionally, parts of the highlands and deserts of Al Mahrah, Hadramout, Marib, and Al Jawf are likely to experience these conditions.
The center has issued warnings about the sudden flow of floods in ravines and valleys, advising citizens to avoid these areas during and after rainfall. Drivers are cautioned against crossing low-level bridges during floods.
There are also warnings about reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to rainfall and fog formation, as well as thunderstorms. The public is advised to avoid elevated areas, steer clear of metal structures and tall trees, refrain from using mobile phones, disconnect electricity, and stay away from water to ensure safety.
The center urges relevant authorities to take necessary measures to protect lives and property.
